Vetofast is a free, non-profit community directory of veterinary clinics and veterinarians in Bangladesh. Volunteers run it; the person responsible is named on the About page. We do not sell data, we show no advertising, and we keep no ratings or reviews.

The short version

What we collect, and why
When you visit. Our host, Vercel, sees your IP address and which pages you open. We may also use Vercel's simple visit counter, which only counts visits and pages, to learn which pages are used. It does not build a profile of you and does not follow you (see the cookie note).
When you make an account. We keep your e-mail address, your name, your role (pet owner, vet or clinic owner) and the dates you joined and last sent something. Your password is held by Firebase Authentication (a Google service); we never see it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and e-mail address from Google. Your e-mail address is never shown in public.
When you add a clinic or send a correction. We keep what you typed, any link you gave, the time, and each decision our reviewers make. If you are not signed in, we also keep the e-mail address you gave, only to send you one confirmation link and to reach you about your submission. Submissions stay as part of the listing's history, including those we decline. A guest submission that is never confirmed lapses after 7 days.
When you claim a clinic or a vet profile. We send a one-time code to the public e-mail address already listed for the clinic. You may also use a call-back or upload a document. We keep documents in a private Vetofast folder that only administrators can open. They are never public. Documents for claims that are declined or withdrawn are deleted after 90 days.
When a vet's registration is checked. We keep the BVC registration number, the name on the registration, the date of the check, who did it, the public link, and a private copy of the card. The public page then says "BVC registration checked" with the date. This means only that the number matched the name. It says nothing about the quality of care.
When a vet is invited. If a clinic names a vet who is not yet on Vetofast, our team may note their phone or e-mail only to send an invitation. We never publish it.
Maps. Maps come from OpenStreetMap. Your browser asks OpenStreetMap for the map tiles, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address.
Finding clinics. To find clinics we have used Google Places as a working aid. We keep only the Google place ID. Anything else it showed us is a short-term working note and is deleted within 30 days.
Protection from bots. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, through Firebase App Check, to tell people from automated programs. We use it on our forms.
Understanding what pet owners need
We use de-identified, combined (aggregated) data, such as how many people search a city, to understand what pet owners need and to improve Vetofast. Your personal details, such as your e-mail address and phone number, are never shared with anyone and never made public. Your privacy always comes first.

These providers may keep data outside Bangladesh. We share data only with them, only to run the site, and with authorities if the law requires it. Nobody buys our data.
How long we keep it
- Accounts: until you ask us to delete yours.
- Submissions and decisions: kept as the listing's history.
- Unconfirmed guest submissions: 7 days.
- One-time codes and invitation links: short-lived, then deleted.
- Documents for declined or withdrawn claims: 90 days.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. You can ask us to correct or remove a listing (see the listing and removal policy). You can stop any news e-mail with one click. We answer within 14 days.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. If you think a child has made an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes and law
If this page changes in a way that matters, we show the new date at the start of the page. The law of Bangladesh applies, and the courts of Bangladesh decide any dispute.
