This note tells you what Vetofast stores in your browser and how we count visits. Questions: write to hello@vetofast.com.

The short version

  • We show no advertising and use no advertising trackers.
  • We do not use Google Analytics.
  • Searching and reading need no sign-in and no account.
  • A few small items are stored only so the site works and stays safe.

Any visit numbers we use are combined and de-identified. They help us understand what pet owners need and improve the site. Your personal details are never shared and never made public.

A cookie is a small piece of text a website saves in your browser. Browsers can also keep similar items in "local storage". This note covers both.

What the site uses

ItemWhyWhen
Sign-in information from Firebase AuthenticationKeeps you signed in so you do not repeat your password on every pageOnly if you sign in
Bot protection from Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise (through Firebase App Check)Tells people from automated programs, so forms stay free of spamOnly on form pages
Vercel visit counter (may be used)Counts visits and pages so we know what is useful. It does not build a profile of you and does not follow you around other sitesEvery visit, if we use it
Your choices, for example a dark or light displayRemembers a setting on your deviceOnly if the site offers the setting

The first three exist to make the site work, stay safe and be improved. Because they are needed to run the site, we do not ask you to accept them one by one.

Third parties on a page

  • Maps. A clinic page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. OpenStreetMap sees your IP address.
  • Links. If you click to a clinic's own website or to a social page, that site has its own rules.

What we do not use

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No Google Analytics.
  • No social media tracking buttons.
  • No selling or sharing of visit data.

Search Console

We use Google Search Console. It is a tool for site owners that shows how the site appears in search. It does not run in your browser and does not track you.

Your choices

You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, or tell your browser not to accept them. If you do, you will need to sign in each time, and some forms may not work. You can also use a private window.

Changes

If we add anything new that stores data in your browser, we will update this note and its date first.
