The short version
- Vetofast helps you find a vet. It does not treat animals.
- Nothing here replaces a registered veterinarian who has examined your pet.
- Do not give your pet any medicine because of something you read here.
- In an emergency, go to a vet first.
Treatment is a matter for a vet
Veterinary treatment is medical science. It depends on the animal in front of the vet: its age, weight, history, signs and test results. Only a registered veterinarian who has examined the animal can judge what it needs.
Vetofast does not suggest any treatment. It does not replace any veterinary treatment. It does not sort treatments into better or worse, and it does not rank or grade them.
Medicines and vaccines
Vetofast does not recommend any drug, vaccine or medicine, and it does not give doses. Whether an animal should have one, which one, how much and for how long is the sole decision of a registered veterinarian who has examined that animal.
Please do not give a medicine to an animal, and do not stop or change a treatment, because of anything you read here. If a page mentions a product or a drug, it is only to explain a topic, never to tell you to use it.
The care guides
Our care guides are general information. Each one names its author, shows its date, and lists its references, so you can see where it came from and how old it is. A guide is not advice for your particular animal. Animals differ, and information changes. Ask your vet before you act on a guide.
Emergencies
If your pet is bleeding, struggling to breathe, has collapsed, has had a seizure, may have swallowed something harmful, or you are worried it may die, go to a vet at once. Phone the clinic first if you can, so they are ready. Do not wait for an answer from this site or for a reply to an e-mail.
Vets and clinics on Vetofast
Vetofast lists veterinarians and clinics so pet owners can find them. A listing is not a certification, endorsement, recommendation or judgement. We do not know, and we do not say, which vet or clinic is good or bad. The words "BVC registration checked" mean only that a vet's name and number matched the Bangladesh Veterinary Council record on the date shown. They say nothing about the care that vet gives. We advise you to choose a BVC-registered veterinarian.
Information can be missing or old. Missing information does not mean a clinic has no vet, service or facility. Phone the clinic to ask.
Your own risk
You use the information on Vetofast at your own risk. Any harm to a pet or to a person that comes from using it is your own responsibility and not Vetofast's. If you are a vet, you remain responsible for your own professional judgement.
This page works together with our Terms of use. The sections "What Vetofast is not" and "Your own responsibility" in the Terms apply here too.
Not a regulator
Vetofast is a community-driven platform. It is not a regulator or a legal agency. Clinical standards and legal rules come from the law of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC).
